Eric Benet's last album was about losing his wife Halle Berry with him declaring his undying love for her. His latest offering, 'Love, Life & Music', is about her too. He's really got it bad.

He’s reminiscing about the good times that they used to have and basically crying over spilled milk. This is evident on 'You Are The One': he's heart-broken and not ready to move on. The same applies to his music. Benet is one of the few artists who have remained with that soulful '90s sound. The sad thing is that after a while the songs start to sound the same and the whole thing becomes boring. The entire album is filled with jazzy instruments and lots of ballads.

He may be very good at expressing his feelings on the mature and romantic 'Sing For Me', while 'Everlove' finds his voice blending beautifully with that of Terry Dexter but the quality is undone by his refusal to let go of the past — lyrically and musically.
