First breaking onto the music scene as runners up in 2004's Coca Cola Pop Stars competition, Jamali are the only survivors of that reality show still going strong.
Made up of Jackie Carpede, Liesl Penniken and Mariechan Luiters, the trio are now on their third album, appropriately named '3rd Base'.
Singing in English, isiZulu and a bit of Afrikaans, and recruiting hip hop artists Ferdy Ferd and Obita as guests, the girls clearly aren't afraid of reaching out to as many people as possible.
So on this 16-track offering you'll find their popular radio-friendly version of ABBA's 'Knowing Me Knowing You'; the more laid-back 'Maybe' — your typical girl-empowerment song; and party tune 'Skut Julle Lywe' that's bound to have you moving.
They even tackle 'Life is Going On' with the late Brenda Fassie and do it justice.
And with Christmas around the corner, the trio has something for their fans: the final track is 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas'.
The good thing is that despite the variation in the songs, they blend together very well. The tempo remains upbeat and the whole album is filled with love. And you're bound to find yourself singing along.
The trio have obviously put a lot of work into the making of '3rd Base'. Jamali's sound has matured and it's hard to pick a favourite.
