He first made his name as the newspaper vendor Broetjie in the groundbreaking theatre production of David Kramer and Taliep Petersen, 'District Six'.

Now, after 25 years in the entertainment industry, Alistair Izobell can list singer, dancer, actor, recording artist, and radio DJ on his CV.

After his initial stage breakthrough he was fortunate to work with some of the most talented and successful recording artists in South Africa like the late Brenda Fassie, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Ricardo, and Sipho Hotstix Mabusa.

Subsequently he became one of the lead vocalists of the renowned group, The Rockets for about three years.Izobell performed the role of Ritchie Valens in the South African theatre production of the musical 'The Buddy Holly Story' and toured SA with this production.

He was cast in Kevin Feather?s successful tribute show, 'The Doowah Boys', produced by Pieter Toerien when songwriter/producer Patric van Blerk who penned the evergreen, 'Paradise Road', for the female trio, Joy, offered him a solo recording contract.

The title track of his first album, 'Venus', is still receiving regularly airplay on radio stations and is regarded as his signature track.

More recently he was seen in one man show 'Venus in Tight Blue Jeans' and heard on his latest CD 'The Other Side of Me'.

Every day is a dream and I try and enjoy life and all the challenges and projects which is a goal in itself!
