Steve Louw is one of South Africa's bonafide rock 'n roll heroes. As frontman of Big Sky, the singer songwriter has been responsible for classics like 'Waiting For The Dawn', 'Mr Green' and 'One Cut With A Knife'.
Now he's staging 'Heart and Soul: Songs from the Desert, the City and the Road' at The Little Theatre on UCT's Hiddingh Campus, 37 Orange Street, on 31 October and 1 November.
The shows, to be recorded for DVD release, will feature previously unheard material including a song cycle inspired by San mythology and the desert landscapes of the Northern Cape and Namibia.
Of course there will also be a selection of tracks from the albums 'Trancas Canyon', 'Beyond the Blue', 'Going Down with Mr Green', 'Horizon' and the landmark 'Waiting for the Dawn'.
Ahead of the shows we spoke to Louw about the fun side of life.
