Daniel Craig is back as Ian Fleming's James Bond in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time.

Not much on the film's plot has been released, with Sony's official synopsis reading: "In Skyfall, Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost."

At the start of the trailer, Bond is shot while seemingly on a mission and his death is recorded by MI6. Bond returns as his boss, M, is shown that a "lost" harddrive containing her agents' identities is released on YouTube, and MI6 is seemingly destroyed.

The trailer also introduces the film's villain, played by a blond Javier Bardem, and Bond's new tech wizard quartermaster, played by Ben Whishaw.

Skyfall is directed by Oscar-winner Sam Mendes, and is set for release in South Africa on 30 November.
