The first trailer for Baz Luhrmann's 3D version of The Great Gatsby has been released.
Based on the iconic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, The Great Gatsby stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the mysterious Jay Gatsby; Carey Mulligan as his love interest, Daisy Buchanan and Tobey Maguire as the novel's narrator, Nick Carraway.
"New York, 1922," Maguire says. "The tempo of the city had changed sharply, the buildings were higher, the parties were bigger, the morals were looser and the liquor was cheaper. The restlessness approached hysteria."
The story of The Great Gatsby follows Carraway as he moves to Long Island and is transfixed by the lavish lifestyle of his enigmatic neighbour, Gatsby. The pair form an unlikely friendship and Carraway is enlisted to help Gatsby win back his old flame.
Set to an eclectic soundtrack, the trailer kicks off with scenes of a huge party set to Jay-Z and Kanye West's No Church in the Wild - before seguing into Jack White's intense cover of U2's Love is Blindness.
The film, from Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet director Luhrmann also stars Elizabeth Debicki, Joel Edgerton and Isla Fisher, and is scheduled for international release on 25 December.
