As 27 July inches closer, the latest trailer for The Dark Knight Rises – the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy – has landed.
The Dark Knight Rises is set eight years after Batman took the fall for Two Face's crimes in The Dark Knight. A new terrorist leader, Bane overwhelms Gotham's finest and the Dark Knight resurfaces to protect a city that brands him an enemy.

In this new trailer, we get a sense of the epic scale of Nolan's third and final Batman flick. Bridges are destroyed, planes break apart in the air, the Batmobile turns into a jet and Anne Hathaway's character warns that there is a "storm coming".
Leading an all-star international cast, Oscar-winner Christian Bale (The Fighter) again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Tom Hardy as Bane, Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard (Inception) as Miranda Tate and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake.
Returning to the main cast, Oscar-winner Michael Caine (The Cider House Rules) plays Alfred; Gary Oldman is Commissioner Gordon and Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman reprises the role of Lucius Fox.
The locations span three continents and include the American cities of Pittsburgh, New York and Los Angeles, as well as sites in India, England and Scotland.
The Dark Knight Rises releases in South Africa on 27 July.
