Finally, after literally months of hanging on the edge of my seat... it's here. Quentin Tarantino's 'Inglorious Basterds' opens in cinemas this week, and I'm eager to see if it lives up to the hype. Also this week: Robert Pattinson casts off his shiny vampire persona for the role of Salvador Dali in 'Little Ashes', follow Fokofpolisiekar in their feature-length documentary, and get your week's quota of explosions in 'Gamer'. And last but not least... 'Moon', starring Sam Rockwell as a lonely man on the moon.
Inglorious Basterds

Directed by Quentin Tarantino
Running time: 2 hr 32 min
Age restriction: 16LVP
Genre: Drama
Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, 'Inglorious Basterds' stars Brad Pitt as the leader of a group of Jewish-American soldiers who cause havoc among the occupying German forces in France during WWII.
The band of soldiers known as 'The Basterds' are chosen specifically to drop behind enemy lines and to spread fear in the hearts of people throughout the Third Reich by ambushing, scalping and brutally killing German soldiers with their primary target being Nazis, always leaving one survivor to relate the horror of the attack.
However, when they cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theatre in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers the ante is upped and their mission begins to change as they seek to help her avenge the deaths of her family at the hands of the sinister SS colonel known as 'The Jew Hunter'.
In true Tarantino style the film is an epic exercise in blood-letting in what the director describes as his "Spaghetti Western but with World War II iconography".

In this sci-fi thriller, astronaut Sam Bell is nearing the end of his contract with Lunar Industries which operates a mining operation on the far side of the moon. Sam alternates his time alone between working in the mine, reflecting on his past mistakes and dreaming of his retirement and return to earth.
However, his isolation has recently started to make Sam feel somewhat uneasy. With only two weeks to go before he returns to Earth, Sam is involved in a serious accident and when he awakens he finds strange things are happening. His strangely familiar replacement has arrived giving him the impression that Lunar hasn't been entirely straightforward about their plans for him.
