Jennifer's Body scores 3/5

Snappy dialogue and a quirky cast makes Jennifer's Body a welcome addition to this year's 'horror' releases… and yes, Megan Fox — iafrica.com readers' pick as most beautiful — partakes in a lesbian kiss.

Written by Diablo Cody (2007's sleeper hit 'Juno'), 'Jennifer's Body' has the trademark Cody lingo — it's smart, fresh and delivered by a talented young cast playing against type (Adam Brody is a riot as a demon-worshipping emo rocker).

Jennifer (Megan Fox) is the hottest girl in school, but hangs out with the dorkiest 'Needy' (Amanda Seyfried), who may or may not have a girl crush on her BFF. But things go pear-shaped when Jennifer is possessed by a demon that turns her into a man-eater… literally.

Jennifer sets about setting her teeth into every guy who is willing, which means every guy, while Needy attempts to put a stop to it.

Don't expect many scares — although there are some genuinely creepy moments — from this one. It is a horror comedy, if you needed reminding, and it's definitely heavier on the laughs. In the end it's the dialogue keeps Jennifer's Body above water.

Without it, I fear it would have sunk.
