Some of South Africa's biggest actors and comedians — including Colin Moss and Rob Van Vuuren — are due to appear in a new local film set in the world of casting.

According to the director, Quinton Lavery, Casting Me is a Clerks meets 40 Year Old Virgin comedy that centres around Paul, a frustrated casting director. His girlfriend dumps him and he hates his job although he has great colleagues, Rueben and Janet, at the agency. He lives in a flat with his friend, the gay computer nerd, Nic.

To get his life on track again and win back his girlfriend he decides to make a film about his job, love life and all the funny things that happen behind the scenes at the casting agency.

Lavery comes from a music and corporate video background and will be working with a range of well known South African names such as Colin Moss, Louw Venter, Rob Van Vuuren, Brendan Murray, Bjorn Steinbach, and FHM model Jenna Saras.

The lead character will be played by stand-up comedian and actor Paul Snodgrass who was just invited to the world famous Comedy Festival in Montreal, Canada. He has also appeared on many radio and TV-shows.

Casting Me began filming in June and July with the hopes of being completed by November, just in time for the Sundance Film Festival.

The production company, Chasing Migada, has released a few behind the scenes videos during shooting and has blogged about the process of making the film.
