'Transformers' director Michael Bay is being lined up to helm science fiction film 'I Am Number Four'.
He will produce the big screen version of the James Frey and Jobie Hughes novel, which is being adapted for the screen by 'Smallville' writers Al Gough and Miles Millar.
The novel will be published by HarperCollins Children's Books, and according to Variety, is "about a group of nine aliens who flee to Earth, disguised as teenagers, when their home planet is destroyed".
This won't be Gough and Millar's first attempt at writing a winning script. They were responsible for films like 'Spider-Man 2' and 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor', while serving as producers for 'Hannah Montana: The Movie' and the upcoming 'Quartermain'.
