Adam Sandler is due to go through a bit of a character change, as he will be portraying a man and a woman in his next film.

The romantic comedy 'Jack and Jill' will start filming early next year with Sandler playing Jack as well as twin sister Jill.

The screenplay was written by Steve Koren, who has had a very long relationship with Sandler. According to Variety, the "project was brought to Happy Madison by Todd Garner ('Paul Blart: Mall Cop'), who will also produce alongside Sandler's partner Jack Giarraputo".

The studio is hoping for a 2011 release date, but in the meantime, Sandler can be seen in the Judd Apatow-helmed comedy 'Funny People', as well as the upcoming reunion comedy 'Grown Ups' and 'Zookeeper'.
