Still, though she's certainly not helping to get rid of the massive publicity surrounding her and Manson, Wood isn't apologising for their relationship either: "I'm sorry if I have blonde hair and blue eyes and my boyfriend looks like a vampire. What do you want me to do about it?"

Hey, personally, I have no problem with Manson's look — however ugly it may be; it just bugs me that the man's going out with a 19 year old!

And it's only a lucky few amongst us who haven't made stupid choices in love when they were young…

Case in point: Brad Pitt and Robin Givens, who dated way back when — in 1989, before Brad's face was plastered on a million bedroom walls. But now, actress Givens has come out and said that she doesn't think Pitt really is all that.

"I mean, Brad Pitt was hot, but I don't know if I find him to be so fascinating; to be perfectly honest. I see him differently than everyone else," remarks Robin. "Whenever I see him in the magazines with Angelina Jolie I just crack up. I think it's hysterical!"

Pitt doesn't really light my fire, I must say — but I can still see what all the fuss is about with him, and I have to take Givens' musings with a truckload of salt, when you consider who this woman of such taste and discernment went on to hook up with…

That would, of course, be none other than jailed-for-rape boxing legend Mike Tyson. Now there's a fascinating man.

Somewhat more fascinating, is the news that Madonna is reportedly thinking of using Central Park, in New York City, as the venue for a huge concert on her 50th birthday — 16 August next year — which would form part of the world tour she has planned for 2008.

Says an insider to UK paper The Sun: "One of the ideas she loves is to do Central Park on her birthday. She came up with it and has been discussing it as a serious possibility."

"She doesn't like getting older but she knows there's no way she can pretend her birthday isn't happening. She is planning to kick off a world tour next June in America to promote her new album. Playing at Central Park would be the highlight. She sees it as a huge televised event."

I'll just bet she does.
