But, it looks like he may be — if not exactly wavering on the wedding thing — at least really, really taken with his latest fling. Word is that he and 'Ocean’s Thirteen' co-star Ellen Barkin are heating up the set, despite her very recent divorce.

According to a movie insider: "George has been a shoulder to cry on for Ellen — he's helping her get over her divorce. She fancies him like mad and you can cut the sexual chemistry with a knife. He is so different from her ex-husband, which she loves." Wonder where this will go? I'll keep you posted!

Meeting on set is one thing — but what about couples who get together away from any cameras and then work together? Oddly enough, it doesn't seem to end too well. Anyone remember Ben Affleck and J.Lo's team-up for 'Gigli' when they were engaged?

Nonetheless, Gwyneth Paltrow is undaunted and reportedly planning to direct the next music video for husband Chris Martin's group Coldplay.

"Gwyneth has said she's keen to direct pop videos," claims a source, "and Chris has agreed to let her direct one for Coldplay. She loves the band and their music, and it's a way for her and Chris to be together while he's working.”

That’s all super-duper — but I can't help getting a bit of Yoko Ono déjà vu. And we all know that that turned out even worse that 'Gigli'.

And, finally, but definitely not least unsettlingly… news that the son of the unimaginably wealthy Sultan of Brunei, Prince Azim, has dropped a cool R41-million-worth of diamonds on Mariah Carey! Clearly the desert heat is getting to his head.

He reportedly sent Carey the sparklers as little gift before a recent New York performance. And, no, it wasn't her birthday, or even the occasion of her generously announcing that she plans never to sing again. Seems Prince Azim just sent the present on a whim.

"We were sent by private jet to deliver this gift," remarked one of his reps. Mariah got a platinum necklace with a flawless diamond that comes in at a staggering eight-carats, as well as a ring to complete the set. I suppose this could all turn out well if she lands up marrying this prince and he decides that no wife of his will sing in public or wear tiny stretchy dresses two sizes too small for her.
