Yay for Anne Hathaway. She may be a naughty celeb liar ? having said that she was totally single in recent interview ? but you can't really begrudge her a little privacy or a decent new man, after the last one turned out to be a massive fraudster who just landed in jail.

The guy she's dating now is Adam Shulman, who's also an actor, but not a very famous one ? so no two-star media-frenzy effect, which is good.

Adam flew out with Hathaway to New Orleans, so they could hang out together in between her promotional duties for her new flick, 'Rachel Getting Married'. Says Shulman to Life + Style mag: We met through mutual friends. I came to support Anne. We've never been to New Orleans before ? it's our first time."

Let's hope this boyf is more about the sweetness and supportiveness ? less about the crazy pretending to be selling real estate for the Pope.

Kylie Minogue has had a few different careers, but, happily, none of them involving fraud. Now she's going back to what first made her a star ? acting. Yes, way back in the poodle-permed years of the '80s, Kylie shot to fame as Charlene on 'Neighbours'. Then, about a decade later, the SABC generously bought the show and let us all relive the magic.

In fact, Kylie didn't really expect to become a popstar... "I started out as an actress and I thought if I was lucky that would be my career. Then I started singing and I was in that weird space where people say: 'You can't be a singer, you're an actress.' Then they're saying: 'Well you're a singer, you can't be an actress.'"

But she can too be an actress. And, by Jove, she will. She's apparently set to star in a new comedy flick by director John Maybury. "It's so much fun," says Minogue, of doing comedy. "It's where I come from, so I'm very comfortable to go back to that. It's not that well known that I'm funny, but I am funny. People who know me will tell you." I look forward to the Kylie-generated laughs.

Maybury can rest assured that he's not likely to have to deal with any diva-like demands from Minogue ? despite her fame. She's never been the big-ego type of celeb.

And, though Pamela Anderson may be a star with a vast, fake chest, no-one's ever accused her of throwing her weight around either. Bizarre giant-breast proclivity aside, Pammy actually comes across as nice, down to earth person.

So down to earth, actually, that she's even perfectly happy living in a trailer at the moment. Okay, it is only temporary, and it's because her place is being renovated, but still. I can think of more than one of her fellow celebs who'd consider anything less than the Beverly Wilshire Hotel slumming it.

No pretension for Anderson, though: "I live in a mobile home and I love it! It's small but chic and perfect for me and the kids. It's fun having to sit on beanbags and do our washing at the laundrette." And no doubt infinitely better for her children than having a bunch of maids.

Equally unassuming is Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe. Here's currently over the pond in New York City, starring in 'Equus' while the production has its run on Broadway. He's enjoying what many A-listers say draws the to the Big Apple ? anonymity.

"The other day, I walked through Battery Park City up around Wall Street for about two hours, and I wasn't stopped once," commented a relieved Radcliffe. "I'm so short, no one notices me."

I've never been sure that Kate Winslet is the most modest of celebs, but she does certainly suffer from the body worries all the rest of us do. And, she claims, she didn't plan a life of stardom for herself.

"I never had a desire to be famous," says Kate to Vanity Fair. "I was fat. I didn't know any fat famous actresses. I just did not see myself in that world at all, and I'm being very sincere. You know, once a fat kid, always a fat kid." I don't think she's exactly a wilting wallflower now, but childhood insecurities do tend to linger, for anyone.
