Let's not ... ahem ... kid ourselves. Jessica Simpson's newborn daughter is going to dominate headlines for years to come. Much like other superstar tots, whose every move – including their wardrobe choices and temper tantrums – are photographed and dissected across the globe, even though they're not old enough for primary school.

From Suri to Shiloh, we take a look at the celebrity kids under the age of seven who dominate the tabloids – for whatever reason.

Suri Cruise

Six-year-old Suri – daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes – is easily one of the most-photographed kids on the planet – and also a little girl that dominates headlines and somehow manages to create controversy, with Katie often taking flak for being a bad mother and spoiling Suri. When three-year-old Suri was spotted wearing high heels, a media storm erupted. Likewise – if she refuses to wear a coat on a cold day, an article is bound to appear in the media. If she's attracting this many headlines now, can you imagine what will happen when Suri enters her teen years!

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt

Another celeb tot that grabs headlines for her fashion choices – albeit on the opposite end of the spectrum – is Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's oldest biological daughter Shiloh. Five-year-old Shiloh prefers to dress in a tomboy style – which Angelina has previously said is because she likes to dress and behave like her older brothers, Maddox and Pax. When the tot asked for her hair to be cut in a short, boyish style, the media erupted – and many commentators suggested that it was wrong for Brangelina to indulge their daughter's desire to be just like her brothers. Shiloh prefers suits to dresses, shorts to skirts... And the tabloids can't get enough of it.

Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt

Just like their older siblings, Brad and Angelina's twins draw a huge amount of media attention – and have done so since birth. Just like the rest of the Brangelina brood, the twins' every move is photographed – with pics of Brad and Knox visiting Legoland and snaps of the family on the beach making headlines on various celebrity gossip sites in the past few weeks.

Blue Ivy Carter

Seriously, the kid's only a few months old and already Jay-Z and Beyonce's daughter has become a tabloid staple, with everybody from Beyonce's stylist to Rihanna gushing about the new arrival. Even Blue Ivy's birth on 7 January was a media frenzy – with the media staking out Beyonce's hospital. And at just two days old, Blue Ivy became the youngest person to enter the Billboard chart after her cries were added to Jay-Z's track Glory. And, last but not least, to counter the massive demand for photos of their newborn, Jay-Z and Beyonce started a tumblr for their daughter - http://helloblueivycarter.tumblr.com/ - with intimate photos of Blue.

Harper Beckham

With the arrival of baby Harper in July last year, David and Victoria Beckham finally got the daughter they had been longing for. Harper is the baby sister to the couple's three boys – Romeo, Brooklyn and Cruz – but shot to superstardom after she was pictured almost permanently attached to mom Victoria's hip during trips across the Atlantic to the various fashion weeks. Harper's wardrobe also makes headlines – with designer Posh making sure Harper is always dressed to clear. We're pretty sure this poor baby is half-blinded by flashbulbs already.

Sean and Jayden Federline

Britney Spears' sons – six-year-old Sean and five-year-old Jayden – have fallen under the same intense media scrutiny as their mother. She also regularly tweets photographs and videos of the pair and their life at home – which thankfully seems pretty normal. But the boys have stepped into the spotlight a few times – with both boys joining Britney for the final show of her Femme Fatale world tour in December last year.

Monroe and Moroccan Cannon

Even before their birth, superdiva Mariah Carey made sure that her twins would grab headlines. The tiny twins - who have just celebrated their first birthday - even had their own Twitter hashtag while in the womb, with Mariah and her fans refer to them as #dembabies. The twins also have their own website - dembabies.com - on which Mariah and husband Nick Cannon post their own pictures of the tots.
