And by refusing to come clean from the outset, Joost has ensured that his family has been put through the wringer, not once, but twice. And the hits just keep on coming.

Just today a "former lover" of Joost's announced to the world that they had been having an affair… even having sex while Amor was pregnant.

Why tell the media this? To grab your five minutes of fame? Congratulations, you've earned yourself the dubious honour of being one of Joost's dirty mistresses.

And to top it all off, the private investigator hired at the beginning of the whole scandal is going after Joost for a bucket load of money. So on top of it all, Joost can look forward to a massive lawsuit.

The question most people have been asking — why now? That whole bit about being tired of living a lie? Come on, nobody was buying that, Joost.

Ah, but wait? What's this. He has a book out! And according to his publishers, 'Joost: The Man in the Mirror' sold out in just one day amid the media frenzy surrounding his conveniently-timed confession. And just in time for Christmas, too. All is revealed. Nothing sells a celebrity's book more quickly than confessions of drug-taking and infidelity in a so-called 'family man'. In fact, up until all of these revelations I had no idea Joost was even working on a book. And now he has insured that it's not only die-hard rugby fans who purchase his memoir, but also the Ordinary Jane on the street who wants to read all of Joost's latest skandaal.

Brilliant marketing, Joostie. Worthy even of Paris Hilton.

In the meantime, you've succeeded in losing your job, destroying your reputation and damaging your relationship with your wife. All in the name of book sales and immortality.
