Who just missed out?
'Twilight' star Kristen Stewart, 'She-has-six-kids-and-still-has-time-for-a-career' Angelina Jolie, 'Destiny' founder and media mogul Khanyi Dlomo, South African stunner Tracy McGregor, and the timeless Cate Blanchett.
10. Thandie Newton
Part Shona (on her mother's side), British actress Thandie Newton has had a number of leading roles — notably in 2004's 'Crash' which won her a BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actress, as well as 'Mission Impossible II' alongside Tom Cruise and 'The Pursuit of Happyness' alongside Will Smith.
9. Kate Winslet
Kate exploded onto the scene as the female lead in James Cameron's 'Titanic', which saw her nominated for an Oscar for her performance. She was constantly criticised for being 'overweight' in an industry were most women were stick-thin. Despite the constant assault on her looks, she persevered, and claimed an Oscar for her performance in 'The Reader'.
8. Katherine Heigl
She made her mainstream breakthrough in the teenage drama 'Roswell' where she played an alien, but her biggest success came as Izzie Stevens in 'Grey's Anatomy'. That led to roles in the blockbuster 'Knocked Up' and the romantic comedy '27 Dresses'. She will next appear in 'The Ugly Truth' with Gerard Butler.
7. Audrey Hepburn
One of the most successful leading actresses in history and our pick for classic beauty, Audrey Hepburn began her career on Broadway in 1951. She starred in classics such as 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', and starred alongside Humphrey Bogart, Fred Astaire and Carey Grant among others. She was also a tireless humanitarian. Audrey passed away in 1993 at age 63.
6. Kate Beckinsale
The sexiest vampire around. Arguably until 'Twilight'. Kate Beckinsale starred in 'Pearl Harbour' alongside Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett in 2001, and was cast as vampire Selene in 'Underworld' and 'Underworld: Evolution'. The classic British beauty also does some modelling work and raises a daughter.
