It's a feeling that gushes over into their songs.
"The main idea behind the music is we just want people to have fun," elaborates Otto.
"We believe that music evokes emotions and the emotion we want people to feel is happiness and we want them to have fun. With our music we try to convey that as much as possible.
"In our live performances we'll get people clapping and singing along or make sure the audience is taking part — really getting everyone involved and making sure they're having as much fun as we're having. Because we f***ing love it on that stage. We want people to feel how we're feeling."
That feeling they wanted their second album to capture.
"The one thing we wanted from the get-go was we definitely wanted the energy to come across on this album," says Shaban.
"And we did it, we got a good energy on this album. The old one we didn't — that was the biggest problem for us. Obviously our live performances is still our forte — you must come watch Captain Stu if you want to get what the real deal is about — but the album is going to do wonders for us. It already has."
Their new video for the song 'More Than Friends' is also pulling its weight.
"It's our third video but it's the first one worth showing to people," chuckles Shaban.
Featuring a "very old school sort of videogames feel to it" with overt visual references to the likes of 'Donkey Kong', 'Super Mario Bros.' and 'Tetris', the clip has received extensive airplay on MK89. Much to Otto's obvious pleasure.
"It's a cool feeling," says the drummer. "It's nice to know we're actually getting somewhere and doing something.
"It's proper now, it's not really messing around anymore. We're taking it to where it needs to be."
