After years of trying 'Friends' star Courteney Cox is almost three months pregnant with her first child, according to a report published on thesun.co.uk.

Cox, who plays Monica in the popular sitcom, and her actor husband, David Arquette, have been trying to conceive since they were married in 1999. The 38-year-old actress has had two miscarriages, and the couple are hoping that this pregnancy goes to term.

A friend told the website: "They're hoping it's third time lucky for them."

The website quotes a source close to Courteney: "She has been desperate to start a family ever since she got married but she hasn?t had much luck in the past. She went to see some fertility specialists at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles last year and she and David have been trying for months."

The source went on to say: "They're both scared and excited about the pregnancy and have their fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong."
