Hundreds of fans attended the launch of the next book in the popular 'Spud' series at Melrose Arch in Johannesburg on Tuesday night.
'Spud: Learning To Fly' is the latest installment by best-selling author John van de Ruit.
A film based on the first book was in the works and British actor John Cleese has already signed on.
Van de Ruit said he hoped the public would enjoy his latest novel as much as the others.
"I think it's my first novel really as a professional author," said Van de Ruit.
"Those other ones my theatre was my job, so I am hopeful and excited. I think it might be the best of the three."
