Booking for the Winter Symphony Season of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra is now open for season ticket holders and opens on 7 July for individual ticket sales.

The acclaimed artists performing during the season include among others conductors Benjamin Zander, Theodore Kuchar and Pieter Daniel (who will also appear as soloist), Klará Würtz (piano), Liesl Stolz (flute) and Gabriela Montero (piano).

Beethoven's works will feature prominently during the season: one of the big highlights of the season will surely be the two performances of his Ninth Symphony with soloists Sabina Mossolow (soprano), Violina Anguelov (mezzo), Sipho Fubesi (tenor), Theo Magongoma (bass) and a massed choir consisting of the New Apostolic Church Choir and the Tygerberg City Choir.

The exciting works by other composers during the season include among others Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2, Ravel's Piano Concerto in G, Mussorgsky's 'Night on Bald Mountain' and 'Pictures at an Exhibition' and Dvorák's Symphony No. 6.
